JSON to CSV Converter
Convert JSON to CSV as you type.
How to convert JSON to CSV
- Paste a JSON array of objects into the left box. Each object becomes one row and the CSV appears as you type.
- Pick a delimiter: comma, semicolon (common in European spreadsheet locales) or tab.
- Untick Header row if you only want the data rows.
- Select Download to save
converted.csvand open it in Excel, Numbers or Google Sheets, or Copy it.
The conversion runs entirely in your browser, so the JSON you paste never leaves your device.
Example
This JSON:
[
{"id": 1, "name": "Ada", "address": {"city": "London"}, "tags": ["math"]},
{"id": 2, "name": "Alan, Jr.", "address": {"city": "Wilmslow"}, "tags": []}
]becomes this CSV:
id,name,address.city,tags
1,Ada,London,"[""math""]"
2,"Alan, Jr.",Wilmslow,[]Frequently asked questions
How are nested objects and arrays handled?
Nested objects are flattened into columns with dot-separated names, so {"address": {"city": "London"}}becomes a column address.city. Arrays are written into a single cell as JSON text, which keeps the data intact and lets you parse it back later.
What if the objects have different keys?
The header is the union of all keys, in the order they first appear. A row that lacks a key gets an empty cell, andnull values are also written as empty cells.
When are values quoted?
Following RFC 4180, a value is wrapped in double quotes only when it contains the delimiter, a double quote or a line break, and quotes inside it are doubled. A single JSON object is converted to one row, and an array of arrays is written as raw rows.
